This is probably Googled the most at the start of this process to be perfectly honest, so for all of you future potential South Korea adoption people, here’s a bit more about our timeline:

• January 15, 2018:  Mail application & submit for approval with Eastern.
• January 24. 2018:  Receive approval from Eastern.  Accepted into SK program with our agency.
• February 5, 2018:  All documentation in hand except written Psych Report.  Schedule home study visits.  (For details on documentation, check out this post.)
• February 21, 2018:  First Home Study Visit
• February 26, 2018:  Second Home Study Visit
• March 4, 2018:  Third Home Study Visit
• March 15, 2018:  Request file from waiting child list
• March 16, 2018:  Receive file from waiting child list
• March 23, 2018:  Review file with pediatrician
• March 23, 2018:  Notify US & Korean agencies of desire to adopt waiting child
• March 29, 2018:  Receive first round of written home study
• April 2, 2018:  Home Study is sent to US adoption agency (AAC)
• April 3, 2018:  Receive first monthly update for our little boy
• April 6, 2018:  Sign Acceptance of Referral to Korea (ARK) paperwork  (If you’re a potential adoptive family, it’s worth mentioning that this is when the big check is due).
• April 8, 2018:  Agreed his name is Sam
• April 9, 2018:  Home Study completed
• April 12, 2018:  i600a form submitted
• April 12, 2018:  Dossier mailed to Korea
• April 13, 2018:  Announced to friends & family! (This was the worst kept secret ever.)
• April 13, 2018:  i600a received
• April 23, 2018:  Receive receipt for i600a
• April 27, 2018:  Receive biometrics appointment notice
• April 30, 2018:  Biometrics appointment
• May 11, 2018:  i600a approval granted (no letter yet)
• May 21, 2018:  i600a approval letter arrives!
• June 4, 2018:  Exit Permit Submission
• June 5, 2018:  i600 filed
• June 25, 2018: i600 Notice of Transfer
• August 21, 2018:  Exit Permit Approval
• August 23, 2018:  Submitted to Court
• October 8, 2018:  Notified of Court Date
• November 13, 2018:  Meet Sam!
• November 14, 2018:  Second meeting with Sam
• November 16, 2018:  Court
• November 21, 2018:  Preliminary approval sent to Eastern
• December 11, 2018:  Final Approval issued
• December 12, 2018:  Notified of Visa Dates
• December 17, 2018:  Custody
• December 18, 2018: Visa
• December 19, 2018:  US Citizenship
• December 19, 2018: HOME!
